We thought the festival was A1. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment, superbly organised, great catering, top class competition, glorious weather and perfect accomodation. We brought 17 boys in our U 12 squad..got 6 treble rooms for them in the ABBEYCOURT hotel staying Friday night only. Each room had 3 single beds and was en suite.Perfect. 4 adults stayed on same corridor in 3 other rooms. We paid 125 euro each which covered 1 night's accom, 1 breakfast, 2 lunches and 2 dinners each. Great value. We had 5 other adults who stayed with friends/ family in Tralee (6 cars). Ratio of 19 to 9 was perfect..to be honest everybody had something to do. Hotel allowed us to keep our bags in 2 rooms while at the blitz on Saturday so we came back, relaxed for an hour and headed to the Saturday night dinner. Breakfast in hotel super ( bar super!)The dinner each evening in the Brandon was a great experience for the boys. They got to chat to lads from other teams and in fact made great friends with Cooke..something to do with the 2 furthest apart clubs..We have a few guys who are pretty accomplished gaa players but in their own words "Tralee was their best ever sporting experience " It was always a problem for Skibbereen fellas to leave Tralee and it was nice to see history repeat itself! We practically had to drag them home.. So an overwhelming success from our point of view. We had a great little team this year; much weaker next year but the experience on and off the field is brilliant and we think our lads are walking tall after it..Adults were pretty knackered but that had more to do with too much coffee, too many scones and too much after hours ! Congratulations on a super festival, well done in 2008/9 season and looking forward to next year. In sport. Skibbereen RFC
