On behalf of the kids and coaches and the club as a whole I would like to thank you and your club for being such fantastic hosts and friends to us on what was a very enjoyable weekend for all of us.

The experience of what is for almost all of us our first taste of a Rugby tour, has whetted the appetite so much that contrary to tradition we are considering touring with the same kids next year and if we can minimize the budget then we will be looking to come to Tralee with possibly ages that will span 2 if not 3 age groups.  

We had started telling people when they asked us where we came from that we came from the Shire (Lanarkshire) the inference being, if you know your Lord of the Rings, that our kids were “The Hobbits”. Smaller than the average bear - but we do like to party.  The parents have been emailing me today saying that their kids look taller and stronger physically than when they left. They think it’s the rugby but we know it’s the Guinness!  

There were some fantastic teams and players on show and we enjoyed watching and learning from them.  You should be proud that your event attracts such talent and such characters.  The Carrickfergus boys in particular befriended our kids and took them under there wing and I was so pleased that their boy won best player in the year as he was an excellent all round lad.  

Please pass on our thanks to all that made it possible and in whose company we spent many hours socializing.  Our trip would undoubtedly have been a poorer one without the close connection that has been made between us all.
